Hello,
I want to view the output of a default_where clause but it is more than 200 chars long. Is there anyway of overcoming this restriction?
Please note I have tried to insert the clause into a temporary table but the insert does not fire as record processing halts part way through the transaction and as yet I do not know a way to force this through.

Many thanks for your help.

Regards

It's ok. I used 'substr' function to split the message output into 6. Don't know why I didn't think of this before.
Thanks anyway.

I create a text item (character 2000) on the control block but show only 10 hytes or so on the screen (in the title area). Then have edit function key 'enabled' / 'available' for it. Navigating to it can be a problem but surmountable. I check to see if the 'canvas' attribute is not NULL. If yes then 'next block' works and I can navigate to the control block and as it is the only displayable field I end up in that field.
