Dear Friends,

I am working with Oracle8i and D2k 2.1

I request to fetch and display huge amount of data into a form.

where as it will take 10-20 minutes to dispaly.

When I want to exit from the fetching process how I can activate cancel button immediately.

I mean when fetching process is on it wont respond for any other events at all.

what to do for an emergency exit from form by cancel button.

Advance thanks.

This has been a problem since the first days of Oracle. Once control has been passed to the database you have to wait for the database to reply. As of 9i there is a method of interrupting the query (but I can't remember just now, I will have to research it).

May I suggest that you spend time tuning your query. Does it take 20 minutes to return if you run the query in SQL*Plus. If not, then look at what is different between your form's query and your SQL*Plus query.

Sorry.
