hi can i work on multiple databases at a time on one machine/one software where multiple databases r created.

yes.
you have multiples databases in multiple homeS.
HAVE ONE AS PRIMARY.
add entries to listener.ora in primary home.
add tnsentries in the tnsnames.ora to connect to the other databaes.
else
the pain will be different listener for different database.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

if u dont wnat to use tnsentries,
every time u login
set ur ORACLE_SID, ORACLE_HOME and login to the conecerned database
