I am trying to install Oracle 8i Personal Edition Release 3 8.1.7 fo Windows NT/2000 into my Toshiba Notebook that has Windows XP Professional as OS. But when I run install it comes out of autorun to the OS.
please advise me the steps.

There is a problem with the 817 installer on Pentium 4's where it drops out to the OS. To get round this copy the entire CD to a subdirectory on your hard drive then search this directory for files called "symcjit.dll" (there are two) Rename these to a .naf extension then re run the installer from the hard drive copy and it should work.
