The Server system contains two hard drives and oracle 8i was installed on second hard drive. The drive in which oracle installed was failed with physical error. The system backup is available. New hard drive is also available. I want to install oracle on new hard drive but to use the same oracle service. While installation, system returns message that the ORCL service is already existed and to choose another name. If the service name is changed, local net service name also to be changed in clients also. I want to know how to remove the existing service ORCL, without formatting the system. Pse. reply.
