I have a strange thing I have not been able to figure out. I did the setup of automatic db startup and shutdown and set the file in /etc/init.d and links to rc3.d and rc5.d for startup and rc0.d and rc6.d for shutdown and restart. (Also used the chkconfig utility)
My startup works just fine. But the shutdown never happens. I tested it many times and changed the shutdown sequence from 10 to 01 to 20. All failed and with the shutdown or restart of the server my oracle instance was killed.
Has anyone faced this problem and has any suggestions.
