i m getting error message : ORA-01034 ORACLE NOT AVAILBLE , when i start SQL i.e the database does not open successfully. kindly suggest the solution ASAP.

also how to create a new instance for database using SVRMGR.

pls post the exact error messages you are getting,
when trying to start the database.
