I have an Oracle 8.1.7 DB on Sol. 8. with 8GB Memory

Total System Global Area 10910368 bytes
Fixed Size 73888 bytes
Variable Size 405856256 bytes
Database Buffers 204800000 bytes
Redo Buffers 180224 bytes

I have very high pagein, no pageout and 0 scan rate from vmstat, the performance from the application is a nightmare.

Why is there a high pagein and can someone offer a 'remedy'

Disk are Solaris Disksuite 3x30GB mirrored on 3x30GB

Hello,
I think the problem lies in Setting the SGA size and all.. refer to Doc ID: Note:1020329.6 in Metalink...It talks about tuning the memory on sun solaris..
