It depends. Your example had 99 maxextents and 50 used. If this comes near to 99, just increase the 'maxextents' param in the index.
Then the question is if you have a lot of extents, the it is better to just drop the index and re-create it again with bigger size extents.
Export/import does not even come to the picture as we are dealing with the index. Just drop and re-create.(export/import is good for tables.)
