Hi All!

We are running Oracle 8.1.7.2 (32 Bit) with SAP on Soalris 5.7. All the oracle datafiles are mounted on RAID5.

Sometimes, we see the datafiles going into RECOVER status, what could be reason?

This means that your datafile needs recovery. DO the fillowing

1. Shutdown oracle
2. startup mount
3. Recover database

This will work if the db is in archivelog mode.
