HI All
I had ORACLE db on Sun Solaris.I un istalled ORACLE from machine.Now when I am trying to re-install it lists old SID and say would u like to upgrade this SID which is found in ur system or want to create new SID.
My problem is I want to use same SID,but d'nt want to upgrade or any thing.
How can i delete the Old SIDs that are still in system.

did you unistall the database and its related files?
remove all the old files in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs
like orapw< sid > files and init< SID >.ora.
set ur new (or the OLD)
ORACLE_SID
ORACLE_HOME etc and start the intsalltion.
